Kids in the Kitchen

A kitchen is a place for experimentation, exploration, and fun. It’s a place where kids can learn about math and science through measuring, mixing, and cooking.

But did you know that the kitchen is also a place for social development? Kids can develop communication skills by talking with their parents or siblings about ingredients or recipes. They can learn how to work in teams by preparing food with others, too.

And if all of this isn’t enough reason to encourage your kids to play in the kitchen, think about this: they’ll be eating healthier foods as they grow up if they’re used to cooking them!

Cracking an egg, kneading dough, pouring from a measuring cup are endless examples of how kitchen play promotes a sense of awareness about food and the endless creative possibilities one holds when they have the skills to prepare healthy food.
